Local farmers of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte have been experiencing a boost in terms of agricultural productivity after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the paving of a 706-meter farm-to-market road (FMR) in the town.
The newly-improved road in the amount of P12-million connects Barangay Lopoc and Barangay Dansalan, shortening travel time to just eight (8) minutes.
Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the completed project greatly benefits farmers in Labason relying on corn, chicken, and swine production for their livelihood.

Recognizing the need to augment healthcare infrastructure in the Capital Region, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 96-bed capacity quarantine/isolation healthcare facility in Quezon City University in just 18 days.
"These mobile health facilities in Quezon City University were constructed to enable the immediate isolation of mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases and mitigate its spread to nearby areas', said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

To spare lives and properties on the threats of major flooding, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a revetment wall along Talinga River Basin in Leon B. Postigo town, Zamboanga Del Norte.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the new river wall which was completed one (1) month ahead of schedule now protect residents of the flood-prone Barangay Talinga.

Public Works and Highways Mark A. Villar announced that three (3) new quarantine facilities that can accommodate a total of 124 patients have been completed in Zamboanga and Basilan as part of the Department's continuous effort to expand the healthcare infrastructure vs COVID-19 in the country.
Based on a report from DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia, Secretary Villar said that the constructed isolation facilities have individual rooms, separate entrance and exit for patient and staff, and comfort rooms.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed two (2) infrastructure projects in Zamboanga City and in Salug, Zamboanga Del Norte.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the two-lane Sinubong Bridge along Zamboanga City - Labuan - Limpapa Road has now been widened into four (4) lanes to accommodate the increasing number of motorists traversing western side of the city.
The newly widened 30.84-meter bridge project amounting to P27.5-million is now being used by residents of Barangays Sinubong, Patalon, Labuan, and Limpapa.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of more than 75 thousand classrooms nationwide in the past three (3) years.
Secretary Mark A. Villar said that in spite of present restrictions for face to face classes, enrollees both in elementary and secondary as well as the senior high schools students will have better ambiance for studying once physical classes are allowed with comfortable and spacious classrooms built by the government.

Public Works and Highways Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar led the inauguration of a newly-completed COVID-19 isolation facility for the people of Las Piñas.
In an event held Monday, November 16, 2020, Secretary Villar together with Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda T. Aguila opened the facility that can accommodate a total of 90 COVID-19 patients.
Built in a vacant lot near Goodyear Building in Barangay Almanza, the offsite isolation facility is made from 26 container vans that were converted into fully-airconditioned hospital rooms with 90-bed capacity.

The biggest "We Heal As One' quarantine facility of Southern Tagalog Region for COVID-19 patients opened in Calamba City, Laguna on Saturday, November 14.
Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar led the ceremomial blessing and turnover of Calabarzon Regional Government Center, considered as the mega quarantine facility of Region 4A with 600 bed capacity.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over to the Lung Center of the Philippines an additional modular hospital that will be used to augment the existing COVID-19 isolation facilities of the center.
DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar said that the newly-completed isolation facility in Quezon City is intended for moderate to severe cases.
"We will continue to push for the completion of more health facilities nationwide although we are seeing a drop in COVID-19 cases recently,' said Secretary Villar.

Two (2) road projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Province of Cagayan are expected to give boost to agri-business and agri-ecotourism industries.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is making significant progress on the ongoing Alicia-Malangas Road Project despite the intermittent weather condition in Zamboanga Sibugay in the last few months.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the 24.10-kilometer road project with eight (8) bridge components is now 36.6 percent accomplished.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the multi-year road construction to Pensal Falls in Aglipay, Quirino has already reached 91.87 percent accomplishment.

Three (3) isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients were recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Pasay City.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar and Isolation Czar said that three (3) facilities are: the WMall Quarantine Facility with 160 bed capacity; the Folk Arts Theater with 20-unit rooms; and the Pasay City Sports Complex Quarantine Facility with 62 cubicles, one (1) nurse station, one (1) working area and an x-ray room.

Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that a new stabilization structure is underway to prevent landslides and road closure along Tagudin-Cervantes Road in the Municipality of Suyo, Ilocos Sur.
"During rainy season, landslides often lead to road lane closure in Sitio Quinilaoen, causing inconvenience to motorists traversing the Tagudin-Cervantes Road that's why we prioritized the installation of slope protection along this section,' said Secretary Villar.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a major flood control project in Alaminos City, Pangasinan just in time to prevent water intrusion this typhoon season.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the 265 linear meter slope protection in Barangay Poblacion has been completed to protect agricultural lands and properties along the Alaminos River.
